Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

Customers are mixed about the quality of the mouse. Some mention it's an overall good mouse, responsive for gaming and normal use, with fast performance. However, others say that the IQue software this uses regularly crashes and doesn't recognize the mouse and other devices. The longer scroll renders the mouse almost useless, and it stopped working after a month of use. That said, opinions are mixed and it'd be best to read the reviews carefully before making a purchase.
"...Best things about it: performance (fast, precise, reliable wireless dongle), construction (lightweight but solid), shape..." Read more
"...Also, it just quits working. No red warning light, nothing. Just stops, dead in it's tracks. Would be nice if it warned you it was going to die." Read more

Customers are mixed about the performance of the mouse. Some mention that it works great, works fine all day with casual use, and works well while gaming. However, others say that it's not reliable, not impressed with quality, and broke within a week of light use. The Logitech software will likely crash while you are changing the DPI sliders. It's disappointing how fragile this is for how lightly it is used.

Customers are mixed about the battery life of the mouse. Some mention that it has great battery life, while others say that it dies insanely fast. They say they wish it didn't eat batteries so quickly and that they have to replace the battery every week.

"...One last thing I noticed. The battery life is poor comparted to the G305...." Read more
Customers are mixed about the comfort of the mouse. Some mention that it feels great in their hand and their wrist does not ache after long use, while others say that the shape is awkward and not comfortable for them.
"...(small but comfortable, with sloped sides which make lifting very easy)..." Read more
"...It honestly was instantly comfortable and I set some new high kills on Apex Legends...." Read more
"...Like I said before this thing is tiny and not comfortable or ergonomic for bigger hands...." Read more
"...No sleep timer, but much more comfortable and gets up to 5000DPI. That's what I had before this mouse, and I've switched back to it...." Read more
Customers have connectivity issues with the mouse. They say it has regular issues connecting to the USB wireless dongle it comes with, and the Bluetooth connection shows a bit of delay. The mouse does not consistently connect to their laptop, and it takes forever to pair. Customers also mention that the mouse is very slow to wake and pair, and would put itself to sleep quickly.
"...Not only that but the software will not recognize the mouse without the dongle plugged in...." Read more
"had connection drop out issues that i fixed...." Read more
"...the MMB to ping in games and when double clicking the MMB, it makes pinging a chore. One last thing I noticed...." Read more
"...I finally got it working, only to discover the connection sputters so often that its basically unusable...." Read more
Customers are dissatisfied with the scroll wheel of the mouse. They mention that it skipping and yoyoing while scrolling, making a squeaky noise. The mouse also has a problem with the mouse wheel malfunctioning, and occasionally just spins the wheel without it scrolling. The choppy mouse movement makes the computer feel like it's stuttering. Some customers also mention that the click function of the wheel was always pushed down.
"...started squeaking and now just under 2 months the mouse wheel spins without engaging the dentents for the "click" and no input...." Read more
"...Also the scroll wheel is bad on the Katar. It doesn't register every scroll click if you scroll too fast making the on screen scroll inconsistent...." Read more
"...Unfortunately, even with fairly light usage, the mouse wheel started skipping and yoyoing while scrolling on the screen...." Read more
"...Then the mouse randomly just locks up and will not move (Yes, I have turned off the Automatic Power Saving Feature), I have to reboot the mouse..." Read more

1) A firmware update must have fixed the wake-lag issue. The Katar wireless now wakes fast!
2) The center-of-mass is a bit too far back, which you will notice when raising with a claw grip, but it is not a deal-breaker, because of the significant positive features (below).
3) Battery life is pretty short, but much better with lithium batteries, which you will want anyway, because they are lighter weight, and help reduce the center-of-mass issue (2).
Okay, having read that, the only surprises after purchase will be good ones, because this is an awesome mouse. I am not a frequent reviewer, but am super happy with this mouse, so want to share my opinions/experience.
Best things about it: performance (fast, precise, reliable wireless dongle), construction (lightweight but solid), shape (small but comfortable, with sloped sides which make lifting very easy), buttons/clicks (super crisp with no pre-travel), nice big pad feet, weight (80 g with Li AAA, see photo, light but not too light), onboard memory (don't always need the software running), and of course the great price.
For comparison, in addition to this mouse, I have purchased the following in 2021:
-Logitech G Pro wireless
-Razer Viper
-Razer DeathAdder V2
-Cooler Master MM710
So a mix of popular wired and wireless gaming mice. I had a honeymoon phase with each of these mice, and thought they were great for the FPS games I play, but after living with each of their flaws over weeks of use, I settled down with the Katar wireless.
Here is a list of fatal flaws that led to the Katar's victory:
MM710 - build quality, buttons wiggle and flex in the horizontal and vertical (feels terrible, although lightweight and clicks feel good).
Viper - SOFTWARE that is like a virus all over my PC, e.g., Razer processes are still running after uninstall, which is the main deal-breaker, but also the button pre-travel (buttons have to be pushed about 1 mm before click happens, which starts to bug), otherwise great.
DeathAdder V2 - too big, but cannot stress enough the terribleness of the Razer software/bloatware.
G Pro - really no flaws, but I ended up liking the smaller shape and slightly crisper clicks of the Katar. Oh, the Logitech software will likely crash while you are changing the DPI sliders--it's otherwise not bad software and much much much better than Razer's mess.
Cord vs wireless: All the wired mice on the list above have nice light cords, which makes the cords almost unnoticeable, but the wireless feel truly free and uninhibited, which I have come to need while playing FPS games.
Sensor DPI: I feel the pull of high advertised DPI, but am not sure why, given I set mine to 500 and adjust in-game sensitivity from there. I suppose higher might somehow mean a better sensor, but in reality I have never been able to detect better performance, so the "low" 10k of the Katar wireless is not relevant for me.
Back to (1) from my opening list. I was worried about the slow wake-up that others have mentioned, and at first (back in March 2021) it was there, and it was a bit annoying. But, a firmware update must have fixed it, because it now wakes super fast. I never detect wake lag anymore. So download the factory iCUE software (not bad software) and update firmware. While updating firmware, make sure you have the dongle connected directly to a USB on the motherboard, not a hub, and make sure other wireless devices/dongles are disconnected, to avoid failures to update.
Back to (2) from my opening list. To further reduce weight, I 3D printed shrouds or rings that fit over the ends of a AAA, making it the size of a AA, and now use lithium AAA. These rings can be purchased if you do not have a 3D printer.
The Katar wireless is a great mouse...I decided to review while looking at the listing today, debating about buying a second, even though my first is still going strong, and I do not know what I would do with a second right now. Anyway, thanks for reading. Good luck!

I got sick of Logitech's buttons failing and the 403 just feeling mushy, and wanted the classic feel of a mouse without all the swoops and other edgy BS that push the mouse one direction or the other slightly (make a g9x wireless and I'll switch back logitech)
